We Install Ductwork for Both Remodels and New Construction
New ductwork projects vary greatly is scope. From the relatively easy task of adding a new heat/AC register to a room to the more complicated whole house installation for an existing home. Regardless, we can handle it. With the larger projects, much of the work is in the system planning and architecture stage. Depending on the size of the house when retrofitting an existing home we also have to take into account these factors:
- Holes for vents and returns must be cut in walls, floors, and ceilings.
- Ducts often need to be run through and under floors.
- The installer may need to go through attics, crawlspaces, closets, and beneath stairs.
All of these factors can raise the installation cost. It may also be difficult to get ducts of the proper size. Bigger ducts can move more air, but they also take more space. Often in retrofits, the ducts need to be smaller than optimal to make space for them. If you’re replacing an existing duct system you might want to explore duct sealing or duct balancing first.
